Damien Prud'homme (saxophones, flute, clarinette, arranger and composer)
Born in France in 1973 Damian is a major player in the Lorraine (France) jazz scene. The writer and arranger founded the Damien Prud'homme Quartet in 2000, and in 2004 recorded and released "Intuitions" for Hemiola Music and in 2007 "Reflections" for Cristal Records. He is now signed to WPR Jazz with his third album called "Tribal Jazz Project" released in April 2009.
He is currently Artistic Director (and arranger) for the Mister Oz Big Band, the Glenn Swing Orchestra, and member of the Orchestra National du Jazz Luxembourg. From 2003 to 2005 he was the instigator of the jam sessions at the Trinitarian.
He has played alongside jazz greats such as Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Frank Agulhon, Erc Barret, Morgan Agren, Pierre Alain Goualch, Joe Fonda, Frank Tortiller and Stéphane Guillaume, to name a few, performing in Jazz In Berlin, the Arsenal in Metz, the Festival Musica in Strasbourg, the Nancy Jazz Pulsations Festival, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Club, the Trier Festial, the Festival of Nice, the Festival International of Jazz in Perm (Russia), the Marly Jazz Festival and in the Philharmonie in Luxembourg.
His was awarded the Diploma of Excellence and the Gold Medal in Saxophone from the Conservatory of Metz. He now teaches in the department of Jazz at the Conservatoire of Metz, and is involved in master classes for their big band, for improvisation and notably collaborates regularly with the ADDAM 57.
