Maggie Parke
Maggie is no newcomer to the music scene. She was lead singer and co-writer in the 80's band Parc Cafe, has written and performed several songs that have been European film title tracks, contributed songs to European T.V. series, written the libretto for and performed in the Modern Opera 'Smalltime' to sold out crowds, and co-written and produced songs for other artists.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A., she has lived most of her life in Europe, but travels to the U.S.A. frequently to work and to spend time with her family. "I'm lucky to have the best of both worlds, the convenience of America, with the culture of Europe".

She considers herself basically a writer. "My dream is to someday write a song that could be viewed as a 'standard' and would be played and performed by many other artists for the next 50 years."

Her new and long awaited album, EVER, to be released the end of February 2006, is her strongest work to date. 14 tracks that each are as individual as she is. Combining the roots of classic rock with the input of jazz and even a seasoning of dance, this album has a sound that is new and vibrant. From the ethnic instruments used as hip hop beats in "Roll with the Punches" to the intimate guitar and voice on "Helpless in Your Hands" this album is a feast for the ears.

"I've spent a number of years working to hone my craft as a songwriter. I equate it with the Japanese form of poetry called Haiku. The art of it is to elegantly express the idea or concept in as few words a possible. And in the process manage to make them rhyme and work in a melody and harmonic structure that makes a song. It's a lovely challenge."

With over a hundred songs to her name in many different styles, the songs on this album represent her best.

Her credits as a performer are also impressive, She toured with her Band Parc Cafe for several years, Made several video clips, has performed with the Orchestra Philharmonic du Luxembourg as a soloist several times, (Notably for the coronation of Grand Duc Henri of Luxembourg), been part of the opening act for Patricia Kass and the Scorpions.

She will once again tour with her new band performing songs from her new album "EVER" in summer and fall of 2006.

As a little gift, we have put 3 mp3's here (top of the page) for you to get an idea of the style of the album in advance of its release.

Projects 2006

The first part of 2006 Maggie will concentrate on the launch of her new solo album titled EVER and its scheduled release the end of March 2006. She will make at least one video clip to support the new album, and plans to tour in Europe during late spring and early summer 2006.
